The Entebbe Magistrate’s Court has issued a criminal summons to land broker Muhammad “Hajj” Kamoga, ordering him to appear on Monday, September 29, 2025, to answer charges of forgery and fraud over land in Garuga.
Allegations Against Kamoga
According to court documents, Kamoga is accused of forging a practicing certificate, a lawyer’s signature, and an official stamp belonging to Lorna Nkamwesiga. He allegedly used those forged documents to fraudulently acquire 200 acres of land in Garuga, Entebbe.
In addition to the forgery claims, Kamoga faces multiple charges, including obtaining land registration under false pretenses and uttering forged documents.
Court Proceedings & Health Claims
Earlier court sessions in the ongoing case had been delayed after Kamoga’s lawyers, led by Brian Tindyebwa, informed the court that their client was hospitalized due to heart complications. They submitted medical records via Kamoga’s sureties, among whom was Katabi Town Council Mayor Ronald Kalema.
The involvement of Mayor Kalema as a surety heightened public suspicion around Kamoga’s claims of ill health. In response, Magistrate Edgar Tusiime instructed the state to verify the hospitalization claims before granting further adjournments.
“The state shall verify the information provided to court and thereafter court shall be at liberty to take action,” the magistrate insisted, after State Attorney Paul Byamukama Aheebwa opposed granting a lengthy postponement.
Public Reaction & Broader Implications
The case has reignited public debate about fraudulent land transactions in Entebbe and its environs. Many stakeholders are demanding swift and transparent handling of the matter, hoping it will deter future cases of land forgery, fraud, and illicit land grabs.
