Security agencies have issued an alert to citizens over suspected terrorists operating in the region. A suspect arrested in connection with the kidnap of Dr. Catherine Agaba, a medical doctor at International Hospital Kampala, has confessed to killing her. Dr Agaba disappeared on April 13, 2019 after taking her annual leave from her workstation and police in Kabalagala last week arrested two people including a Ugandan doctor based in the US over the crime. Sadru Mustafa was reportedly found slaughtering a dog by residents of Kisenyi cell, Kakoba Division, Mbarara Municipality. Sudan’s military government has said two brothers of ousted President Omar al-Bashir have been arrested. A military spokesman said this was part of a campaign to round up “symbols of the previous regime”. Police said the bus registration number UAT 395C hit a road hump and the driver lost control before it overturned at Kitojo in Sheema Municipality (about 25 km from Bushenyi town) on Thursday morning. Former Peruvian President Alan García has died after shooting himself as police arrived at his home to arrest him over bribery allegations. Mr García was rushed to hospital in the capital, Lima.
