Emirates today has announced it will restart services to Entebbe, Uganda on 1 October 2020 and Muscat, Oman from 2 October, bringing the total number of cities served by the airline to 94. The NRM electoral commission has declared the State Minister for Labour, Mwesigwa Rukutana as the winner of the Rushenyi County elections in the ruling party primaries after re-tallying. The National Unity Platform (NUP) has suspended its registrar for Jinja District over allegations that he was demanding bribes in order to nominate candidates. NUP Electoral Commission coordinator Alex Waiswa say that Saul Nsongambi has been asked to step aside as they investigate allegations that he was soliciting bribes of between Shs500,000 and Shs1m from people to declare them party flag bearers.
