Entebbe Municipality authorities have ordered the closure of all beaches and weekly open markets as one of the measures to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus. Entebbe is home to many beaches that attract many revelers, especially on weekend and public holidays. Government through the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development has come out to discourage employers from rushing to lay off their workers amid the grinding economic effects of the global Coronavirus pandemic. Ugandan Authorities yesterday ordered a Rwandan national carrier aircraft to fly back to Kigali after they found out that the craft had a number of citizens from South Korea which is categorized as a high-risk country for coronavirus. It is reported that about 10 Koreans were aboard the Rwanda Air which was coming from Seoul. A second dog has tested positive for coronavirus in Hong Kong days after the first to contract the disease died. A German shepherd living in the Pok Fu Lam area on Hong Kong Island was sent to quarantine along with another mixed-breed dog from the same residence. It happened on Thursday after their owner was confirmed as being infected, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said in a statement. In a bid to make transacting convenient in the wake of restrictions against persons coming close contact with each other due to COVID-19, Airtel Uganda has scrapped charges on mobile money transactions.
