Singer Stecia Mayanja has commented on the new generation of artists, noting that their music was less meaningful.
The band singer, during her recent interview with Spark TV, was asked to compare the music during their generation with the music lately.
She explained that the new generation was not only vulgar and couldn’t be consumed by all age groups, but also very disposable.
Stecia revealed that during their time, they worked on albums that lasted longer and couldn’t be easily forgotten. With this, they didn’t have to keep going to the studio regularly, something that is not the case anymore.
She explained that the new artists focused more on trends, therefore making music with no lasting impact.

“These days, artists do not leave the studio; the songs they release go off quickly. Their music doesn’t make sense anymore. They fade off the scene easily. They call us outdated but we easily take up their spots at the top because they keep releasing useless music. Those same people cannot even sit with their children to watch what they sing,” she said.

Speaking about songwriting during their time, Stecia Mayanja revealed that when they wrote songs, they always consulted fellow writers who were more experienced to give their songs other dimensions.
Instead of rushing to release the song, they always sought counsel from other producers to give their view before they could give the song to their fans, an art that has long been forgotten.
