Singer Maureen Nantume has revealed that she is not under pressure to release new music, as she has already set her foundation.
Maureen Nantume has been on a musical break until she hinted at releasing her new song today. During an interview with Sanyuka TV, the singer explained that she had nothing new to give to her fans and decided to take a step back.
“Musically I have been quiet. If I do not have anything new to give to the people, I do not see why I would be in their faces. But right now, however, I have a new love song that is so beautiful,” she said.
Relating to her years back in the band, Nantume revealed that they were always in competition to release new music. As Eagles Production artists, they had to stay active in order to not only put their careers at the top but also lift the band.
“Those days, we had so much competition. But it was healthy. We were in a band that had to be on top and we were the ones supposed to put it there. Whatever we did was to lift us and our band up. By God’s grace we all broke through,” she said.
Nantume further gave a word of advice to this generation of artists to release good music relentlessly, noting that they did the exact same thing during their prime and it helped them set a foundation. Now that they have already made a name for themselves, they no longer feel the pressure of releasing back-to-back music and are just looking at preserving the legacy they built.

“That is how it used to be in our days. We used to release a lot of music because we had a goal we were chasing. If you have a dream, you do not give it a rest. It is not a mistake and I encourage them to continue. May God give you the right lyrics that will entertain your listener, encourage them, motivate them. Do not take breaks because that is how we were,” she said.
