Singer and gospel minister Grace Nakimera has joined the conversation, speaking out on the growing vice of segregation amongst Pentecostal churches.
Grace Nakimera spoke out in support of fellow gospel artist Gabbie Ntaate, who recently expressed her disappointment with the church, citing that they have, over time, judged and excluded her for being a Seventh-day Adventist.
Nakimera sympathised with Gabbie, saying the criticism affected the number of people who came for her maiden show. She hailed the ‘Awo’ singer for releasing songs that connect the Christian faith and wondered how believers would crucify her instead.
“I sympathise with my sister because it affected her on her show. I feel so bad because you were there to sing gospel music, a gospel concert but people took it that you aren’t born again and refused to come. It is very sad because her songs are spiritual to me. They are good songs and they bring us closer to God. I do not know where they base it on to judge that she is not born again,” she said.
Nakimera emphasized that criticizing fellow Christians for not being ‘Christian enough’ is the reason many people are running away from church, a place that may have acted as a safe place for the lost souls.
“You are really pushing people away from church by thinking you are more righteous than the other yet church should be an open door that welcomes everybody. The world sometimes gets rough and you and you think going to church will be a safe place,” she said.
Nakimera further recalled that during her ‘Power Of Grace’ concert, she got a lot of criticism from this particular group of people after she revealed that she would be performing her old songs before her transformation. She emphasized that she was only answerable to her God and not humans.

“I’m not justifying myself or auctioning for anyone to see that I’m born again. My salvation is between me and my God and not anyone’s business. You are the same people that crucified Jesus,” she said.
