The Ugandan music industry has been gutted by the unforeseen death of veteran Afrigo band singer and saxophonist Moses Matovu.
Moses Matovu lost his life this morning, 24 September 2026, at Kibuli Market Zone B, in Makindye Division, Kampala District.
According to the Uganda Police report, Matovu sustained serious head injuries, and efforts to rush him to save his life at Kibuli Hospital proved futile.
Reports suggest that Matovu had dropped off his girlfriend at her home; however, he was being trailed by a young man who allegedly attacked him over having an affair with his woman.
The woman in question, identified as Rose Tumusiime, was apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers and taken to Kibuli for questioning.
Eyewitnesses revealed that this is not the first time such violent incidents have happened at Rose Tumusiime’s rental unit, with a recent incident seeing her beaten to a pulp by her man over cheating.
