Comedian Shawa has opened up about his fallout with fellow comedian Sammie that led to the disbanding of their comedy duo ‘Sammie and Shawa’.
Sammie came out announcing their split recently, accusing Shawa of being fake and selfish. He claimed Shawa got the fame and abandoned him behind without telling him. He also accused him of going behind his back and earning money under the guise that they were still a duo, and of never giving him his own share.
Shawa, during his interview, confirmed that their journey as a duo had indeed come to an end, declaring that he had officially ended his comedy career to pursue music, saying they were not getting enough money, citing few bookings.
Speaking about their split, Shawa claimed that when Sammie learned he was now doing music, Sammie suggested he also include his verses in the song, something he didn’t agree with.
“I can never forget where I came from but when I started music, I invited him to feature in my videos and also to premiere my song. However, he didn’t show up because he was busy. At this time, I thought I would handle both music and comedy but he said the only way he would support my music was if he had a verse in the song. I didn’t want to make a duo because I started it alone,” he said.
This triggered Sammie to jump on social media to announce that they were officially separated, exposing their dirty linen to the public. Shawa announced that they would never reconcile.
He also vowed that he would never work with anyone again following what happened. He told their fans not to expect any more concerts from them as a duo.
Shawa also noted that they each ventured into other businesses to earn a living. He believes that they are both thriving with Sammie’s new movie trending on the different socials.
