Singer Geosteady Blackman has turned down suggestions to stage a concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, saying the capacity scared him.
Lugogo is considered one of the largest concert venues in Uganda and has long been used as a benchmark for a musician’s weight in the music industry,
For the artists who have managed to pull large numbers of music lovers, they have been hailed as the giants of the industry.
Geosteady, during his recent interview, made it clear that he had no intention of holding a concert at Lugogo, claiming that he was afraid of the outcome, as many artists have experienced low turnouts for their concerts at the same venue.
“I cannot handle this venue. As a person, I have my own principles in me and truthfully,. I’m scared of Lugogo. For one to do something, they must have dreamed about it or wished for it but I have never thought about that. It has never come to my mind. I do not have it and I will never do it,” he said.

Geosetady is known for releasing love ballads that work better for an intimate crowd. He revealed that his type of music is only suitable for indoors and not for open places like the Lugogo cricket oval.
