Singer Kid Fox, real name Steven Kiggundu, has retracted his statement about not knowing Bobi Wine, saying it was a trick to get people’s attention.
After more than a decade abroad, Kid Fox revealed that he is out of touch with Uganda’s current music scene and didn’t know the artists currently making waves.
In one of the interviews, he denied knowing Bobi Wine and having any common factors between them, dismissing the allegations that they went to the same school, reasoning that they had nothing that could put them in the same space.
This did not sit well with Bobi Wine’s fans, who flocked to every comment section where Kid Fox was posted, rallying to cancel him. Having caught sight of the criticism, Kid Fox is back in the news again, this time taking back his words.
In an interview with Sanyuka TV, he confessed that he actually knew who Bobi Wine was and acknowledged that he was super talented.
Kid Fox claimed that he feigned ignorance of Bobi Wine’s existence to get attention from fans, and now that they had recognized him, he would be giving him his flowers.

“Bobi Wine is too big. That was a trick and people bought it. I only pretended not to know him so that I would get people’s attention. Now that you noticed me, I have gone back to reality. Bobi Wine is my brother and we even went to school together. Same as Bebe Cool and Jose Chamelene,” he said.
