Ugandan singer Vinka has received a major endorsement from the Katikiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, ahead of her highly anticipated concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
The concert, dubbed #VinkaLiveAndLoud, is scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, and is expected to bring together Vinka’s fans for a night of live music and entertainment.
Vinka, whose real name is Veronica Nakiyingi, paid a courtesy visit to Bulange, Mengo, where she formally briefed the Buganda Kingdom Premier about her upcoming show.
During the meeting, Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga praised the singer for her hard work, creativity, and dedication to entertaining her fans.
Mayiga also used the occasion to encourage Ugandans to support local artists, emphasizing the wider contribution of the creative industry to the country’s economy.
“Vinka is a hardworking and creative artist who puts immense innovation into entertaining her fans… Let us go and support her, because whenever we support our local creatives, our nation grows, they pay taxes, and their work creates numerous jobs for others.”
The endorsement is expected to give further momentum to Vinka’s promotional campaign as she prepares for her Lugogo concert.
Following her meeting with the Katikiro, Vinka continued her publicity tour with a visit to CBS Emmanduso, the Buganda Kingdom’s leading radio station.
