Comedian Patrick Salvado Idringi has opened up about the genesis of his feud with fellow comedian Alex Muhangi, blaming the media for pushing the narrative and sparking a rift between them.
Speaking during a radio interview, Salvado revealed that they were friends until 2017 during their visit to the USA. By then, Muhangi had a comedy gig at Diners and had asked the owners to give him leave for two weeks while he was traveling to the US since he was the face of the show.
Management, however, refused his request to suspend the show until his return, and among the people they contacted to fill in the gap was Salvado’s young brother.
“My kid brother called me while we were in the US and said the guys from Diners had contacted him but I turned it down saying it was Muhangi’s gig and he should talk to him. When he spoke to Muhangi, he told him not to do it. My brother came back telling me Muhangi’s response and I told him as a man he had to make his own decisions. He went to management and told them he would do the gig.
The show went on as planned, and when they flew back, Muhangi’s team started building a narrative, considering it was Salvado’s brother who had taken over.

“My brother was using my name to get the lineups of comedians, and Muhangi’s team started the narrative. When headlines came out that I had stolen his show, he was liking and retweeting,” he said.
Salvado further noted that he tried reaching out to Muhangi to ask him about it, but he was blocked on both WhatsApp and calls.

“I reached out to him on Facebook and wrote a long message telling him we should come out and acknowledge it was a misunderstanding but he didn’t respond. The narrative went on like that and I also let it go,” he said.
That was when the back and forth started between them on social media, and it went on for several years before being reconciled by Steve Jean, rejuvenating their friendship.
