Da Hares’ singer and boss, David Lutalo, has reacted to the negative comments and criticism surrounding his new song release, “Sija Lala.”
David Lutalo released ‘Sija Lala’, a Swahili Song, and to kickstart his challenge, with a video, clad in outfits that seemingly mimicked Tanzanian bongo flavour star Diamond Platnumz.
The song sparked widespread backlash online, and while responding to critics during his TV interview, Lutalo revealed that he had received the criticism with a positive attitude, saying it was not a bad thing to be compared to a big star like Diamond Platnumz.
He noted that the people who started the rumor did it to put him down, not knowing that they were indirectly promoting his song, making it known that he was unbothered by the insults and trolls as long as they were making his song more popular.

“I told them to do the challenge in that outfit, and they are doing it. Whether they insult me now, I do not mind as long as the song is moving. I’m not even angry at them because I’m an artist and any news about me is okay to me as long as I have not killed anyone or done anything illegal,” he said.

Regardless, Lutalo expressed his joy in having his song trending and attracting social media challenges not only in Uganda but across East Africa, stressing that it has always been his dream to have a song that crosses borders.
“They can never disrespect a person who sings very well like me. Those who are doing it are the ones getting embarrassed because it is a very good song, and the person behind it is talented. I’m not bothered at all. They should go on like that. My song is doing very well, going by the challenges,” he said.
@sanyukatvug I am thankful for the challenges in my new song “Sija Lala.” It has always been my dream for my music to reach everywhere.- David Lutalo #SanyukaUnCut #SanyukaUpdates #FfeBannoDdala
