Singer Daxx Kartel, real name Sulaiman Ssebunya, has described the Ugandan Music industry as stagnant with non-functioning structures.
Daxx Kartel, while appearing in a YouTube interview, revealed that the industry is motionless signifiacntly affecting by political leaders not ready to implement policies to better the industry alongside the tough state of the economy.
He stressed that the people in the industry were not willing to acknowledge and accept the consequences of their actions, leading to the business’s collapse.
Comparing the industry in the past years to the present one, however, Daxx revealed that there has been a great improvement in quality when it comes to video and audio production, despite lacking lyrical content.

“If this production were to meet the musicians of those days, because they had the lyrics, it would have been massive. With that, we are stuck somewhere, but still, very many amazing artists are still coming up,” he said.
Suggesting solutions, Daxx revealed that there was a need to reinvest in the industry, especially by stakeholders, and also put in place functioning structures for the betterment of the industry.
