Linus Tats has issued an official statement following the unexpected absence of South African artist Scotts Maphuma from a highly anticipated performance at the recent Linus Tattoo Party held at Lugogo Millennium Grounds.
According to the organisers, all contractual obligations, including performance agreements and payment arrangements, had been fully honoured ahead of the show. However, the artist did not appear on stage as scheduled, leaving fans disappointed and disrupting the planned entertainment lineup.
As a brand known for delivering high-energy experiences and consistently executing events, Linus Tats expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to fans, sponsors, and partners who attended in large numbers.
In its statement, the brand emphasized its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability across all productions.
“We deeply regret the disappointment experienced by our audience on the night. All arrangements for Scott Mafuma’s performance were completed in good faith, and his non-appearance was beyond our control. We remain committed to delivering quality experiences and ensuring such disruptions are minimized in future events,” the statement read in part.

Linus Tats further noted that before the event, agreed performance terms were fulfilled, including a structured payment arrangement that was settled in full.
The organisers also stated that additional requests were made during the coordination process and were accommodated in good faith to ensure the performance proceeded as planned, including adjustments to the performance fee and travel-related arrangements, such as business-class considerations for both the artist and his management.
According to Linus, Scotts Mafuma further added that on the night of the show, additional financial requests were reportedly made again, which were also wired as part of efforts to secure the performance.
“Despite all arrangements being fulfilled on our side, including a total payment package that had been agreed and completed, the artist did not turn up for the show, did not communicate with fans, and did not offer any public explanation or apology,” Linus stated.

Following the incident, Linus Tats confirmed that the matter is now being handled through the relevant authorities to seek proper resolution, including recovery of funds and assessment of damages incurred due to the no-show.
The brand also extended gratitude to its sponsors, partners, and supporters for their continued trust, noting that lessons from the experience will be used to strengthen coordination and improve future editions.
