The Ugandan movie industry is mourning the unfortunate demise of renowned actress and radio personality Sally Elizabeth Bwamimpeke, who suddenly passed away yesterday.
Sally, popularly known as Maama Kabina, was a common voice on the radio during her time at Capital FM Overdrive show alongside Gaetano Kaggwa and Beat FM Sambagala show.
Throughout her acting career, she has worked with some of the biggest names in the Ugandan film industry, including celebrated actress and musician Mariam Ndagire, helping her cement her position and showcase her talent.
Sally was widely known for her role in the popular Ugandan series Prestige, where she acted as ‘Jasmine’. By the time of her passing, Sally was residing in Toronto, Canada, where she relocated to in 2023.

According to reports, Sally passed away after a battle with breast cancer, and her body is expected to be repatriated and laid to rest at her ancestral home in Zirobwe, Luweero.
The news of her demise was shared by fellow actor John Ssegawa, with whom she had a child. He described the deceased as a great actress, mother, and friend with a beautiful smile.

Sally leaves behind children, her family, friends, and colleagues who loved her both on TV and radio. Some of these, like former workmate Rebecca Jingo, flooded social media with condolence messages to the deceased and her family.
