Swangz Avenue singer Winnie Nwagi has revealed she doesn’t need anyone’s help to fight against her aggressors, promising to continue dealing with them until they stop.
Winnie Nwagi is one of the few female artists who have been targeted by rowdy men while performing on stage. She has had several incidents of sexual harassment where fans have inappropriately touched her amidst performances, despite making it clear in the past that her body was not to be accessed by them.
Her recent experience came during the Easter festivities, when she went outside town to perform at a local bar, and as she made her way through the crowd, a random guy rushed to her, armed with his phone, ready to film himself kissing her.
Winnie Nwagi confessed that the habit was rapidly growing, with the assault stretching to more female artists, and begged for it to stop.

On her side, however, she emphasized that she didn’t need anyone’s help to stop her aggressors from violating her. Just as she has always been, she hit them with microphones, her boots, and she vowed to continue until they learned their lessons and focused on her performances instead of disrespecting her body.

“For me, I can stop it my way, and I do not need anyone to help me. I will fight it and I will stop it.. When it happens, I keep singing because this is just one person, and when he is dragged out, I go on. This doesn’t mean they love you a lot, or that they’d touch you like that. It is just disrespect because even those who he left behind love you; that is why they came to see you. I think it even matters how you were raised,” Nwagi said.
