Swangz Avenue intends to sue McKats and Zack Maya for allegedly using the Roast and Rhyme brand without permission.
According to reports, Dubai-based promoter Zack Maya used the Roast and Rhyme logo, theme, among others, to feature in his Winter festival, scheduled for November this year.
Based on Kats Promotions’ event flyer, Mc Kat, Top Boy Mc, and Morgan MC are expected to feature at the event, along with other notable figures.
Vibes Promotions’ use of the Swangz Avenue Roast And Rhyme theme and logos without their consent rubbed them the wrong way, prompting the record label to serve the event organizers with a document intending to initiate legal action.
The document demands that Vibes Promotions pay the label UGX 1 billion in damages and UGX 90 million in legal fees.
