Singer, songwriter, and music producer Daddy Andre, real name Andrew Ojambo, has responded to the claims of double-selling Katalaya and Kandle featuring Willar Stary’s ‘Ngenderera’ song.
Addressing the controversy with Galaxy TV, Daddy Andre accused artists of being indecisive. He narrated that he is experienced with writing different demos and sending them to the artists to select from. The artists, he said, choose from the list but never get back to him to know what they have decided on, and only come out if the song has been given to another artist.
“You can send different demos to artists. And artists without finishing how the contract says or without signing the spreadsheets, they will go ahead and record somewhere. You might send them like six songs, and they think they own all of them. They record with someone else or one of your boys without your knowledge, and before you know it, they have the song. The problem is, they do not communicate,’ he said.
Last week, “Ngenderera,” a collaboration between rising star Willar Stary and the dynamic duo Kataleya & Kandle, was abruptly pulled from YouTube, leaving fans puzzled and artists scrambling.
The removal was initiated by Twin Jojo, a Canadian artist with Ugandan roots, who filed a copyright claim against the track.
Daddy Andre was accused of selling the same song, or at least its core beats and production, twice, leaving Willar Stary and Kataleya & Kandle, and Twin Jojo in copyright disputes.

This double-dealing positioned Andre squarely in the middle of the mess, turning what could have been a simple collaboration into a full-blown legal and reputational fiasco.
