Ugandan musician Alien Skin has been arrested in connection with a murder case that has shaken Kampala.
Police confirmed that the singer, whose real name is Patrick Mulwana, was taken into custody after being linked to the death of an individual allegedly assaulted by his group, commonly known as the “Fungon gang.”
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, investigations revealed that the deceased was reportedly abducted and beaten on Alien Skin’s orders after a dispute within the group.
Alien Skin is accused of ordering the violent beating of Namuwaya Wilfred aka Uganda Top Dancer, a former Fungon Forest staff member, which tragically led to his death.
The victim later succumbed to the injuries.
Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango stated that Alien Skin will face murder-related charges, adding that detectives are gathering further evidence to strengthen the case.
The arrest has sparked public debate, with fans expressing shock while others called for justice to prevail.
Alien Skin, who has gained notoriety for his controversial lyrics and clashes with authorities, had previously dismissed allegations against him.
His detention now sets the stage for a high-profile court case that could have major implications for Uganda’s music industry and entertainment circles.
