Police in Entebbe are investigating a case of aggravated defilement involving a minor, police says in a statement issued today, Monday, 13th January, 2025.
The victim’s mother, Ninsiima Sharone, reported the incident, which allegedly occurred at the hands of her husband, Waggama Yusuf, a 40-year-old traditional healer and the victim’s stepfather.
According to Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Waggama exploited his position of trust, telling his wife to sleep in the shrine, leaving him alone with the victim.
He then allegedly performed a sexual act with the victim without her consent on multiple occasions. The second instance occurred after Waggama tried to fight his wife, causing her to flee.
The victim’s mother however, eventually noticed that her daughter showed signs of weakness and inquired about her condition, leading to a medical checkup that revealed the victim was pregnant.
