    Gracy Minds Empowerment Initiative Uganda to offer relief aid for Kamwokya Kikete residents affected by fire out-break

    The Ghetto Festival and Awards in conjunction with the Gracy Minds Empowerment Initiative Uganda have come out to provide relief aid to the people of Kamwokya Kikete who were recently affected by a fire-out break.

    Under the theme “Hope for Humanity”, the donations will be availed on Saturday, 2nd November 2024 to the internally displaced people in Kamwokya Kikete zone.

    Items as food, clothes, toiletries, cash and many others will be handed over.

    A week ago, a tragic fire swept through Kisenyi 2 Zone in Kamwokya, Kampala,

    The life of a 15-year-old Kiiza Melisa Catherine, a student at City Side School in Kyebando was claimed according to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) Deputy Spokesperson.

    The fire broke out around 1:49am, engulfing several makeshift structures built from timber and iron sheets and causing complete destruction of property in the area.

    Emergency teams from Kampala Metropolitan Police, the Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, and the Uganda Red Cross quickly arrived at the scene to control the flames.

    Despite their rapid response, Kiiza, daughter of Ronald Bashisha, was found dead at the site.

    Her body was transported to Mulago City Mortuary for further examination.

    Many of the affected people remained homeless without basic items of use.
