The trio was picked up on Tuesday under the supervision of Brig. General Henry Isoke, the head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit following an impromptu visit by the State Minister for Economic Monitoring, Peter Ogwang.
The minister was accompanied by a team of officials from the National Building Review Board-NBRB, State House Anti-Corruption Unit, and police officers to inspect certain projects in the municipality.
Sarah Nabirye, the municipal education officer was arrested on allegations of accounting for close to shs30m as money spent on sports for schools yet, all academic institutions were under lock-down during the period for which the said money is said to have been spent.
Frank Sekagiri, the municipal community development officer was also arrested on allegations of mismanaging the funds meant for Youth Livelihood Program (YLP) and funds for Uganda Women Empowerment Program (UWEP).
The were both taken to Entebbe police to record statements on Tuesday as the minister went ahead to monitor other government projects in Entebbe municipality, Katabi town council and Kajjansi town council.
