    Rukungiri Woman Arrested for Stabbing Husband

    Rukungiri Woman Arrested for Stabbing Husband

    A 32-year-old woman has been arrested by Police in Rukungiri for stabbing her husband and severely wounding him in the stomach.

    Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police Spokesperson has identified her as Patience Natukunda aka Kabaya, a Rwandan national and resident of Ncwera village, in Bwambara sub-county.

    The victim is Siraji Monday, a fisherman at Lake Edward. It is said that the two have been together as husband and wife for 2 months.

    It’s alleged that the suspect (Natukunda) moved out and came back at home at around 11Pm while drunk, and the duo started fighting until at around 1Am, when Natukunda picked up a knife and stabbed her husband on stomach and his intestines came out.

    The victim was then rushed to Nyakibale Hospital in critical condition where he is being attended to currently.

    The Police led by OC Rwenshama ASP Amoding Esther and other personnel visited the scene of crime, arrested the suspect and is now detained at Rwenshama Police Station.
