    Post Bank opens COVID-19 testing fee collection centres at the Airport

    Post Bank has opened collection centers for the payment of COVID-19 testing fees at Entebbe International Airport following a directive requiring all passengers entering the country to undergo mandatory tests using the newly set up laboratories.

    Passengers are now required to take a COVID-19 test or be in possession of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival or have evidence of vaccination

    The bank was recently appointed to oversee the collection of COVID-19 related testing fees.

    Three collection points have been set up at the swabbing area for tourists, the swabbing area for VIPs, and the waiting area for ordinary passengers, to enable all travelers to transact in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner.

    Travelers will be able to make Over Counter payments through cash and Point of Sale terminals.

    Julius Kakeeto, the Managing Director at Post Bank, said that it is important that such a service that seeks to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, is accessed at an affordable fee.

    “Our mandate is to ease access to COVID-19 testing services in the most appropriate way. Therefore, travelers will be required to pay thirty dollars or one hundred and ten thousand shillings,” he said.

    George Williams Kiyingi, the Manager Grants & Partnerships at PostBank, said that the bank is honored to be part of initiatives that positively contribute to the well-being and safety of all Ugandans.

    “The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on lives, businesses, and other sections of life has been far-reaching, changing how we have been operating on a day-to-day basis. However, with the opening of these collection centers that will ease access to COVID-19 testing services, we are guaranteed of everyone’s safety and a gradual return to the normal way of life,” he noted.

    The bank has also established an online payment platform that accommodates mobile money and card payment options to ease the process.

    Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, applauded PostBank for supporting government programs, stating that multilateral efforts are required to curb the coronavirus that has ravaged the economy.
