Police in Rubanda District have arrested a man identified as Turyatunga Jerome for allegedly beating his wife to death.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman identified the deceased as Magdalene Kobusingye, a resident of Ntungamo Village in Ruhija Town Council Rubanda District.
Maate said Kobusigye was assaulted by her husband on Tuesday March 16th 2021, but she did not report the incident anywhere until when her condition deteriorated.
She was rushed to a local Health Center III where she died moments later.
This prompted her relatives led by her brother Muchunguzi John to investigate and discover that the body had marks of caning.
These reported the matter to the Police.
Maate said that the husband was immediately arrested and the wife’s body taken to Kabale for a post-mortem before it was handed over for burial.
