National Resistance Movement (NRM) Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has this afternoon picked the presidential election petition filed by Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) on behalf of her party and party chairman President Yoweri Museveni.
Mrs Lumumba arrived at the Supreme Court in Kololo to receive the petition, in which Bobi Wine challenges the outcome of the January 14th presidential election election.
The National Unity Platform candidate in the petition asked Supreme Court to among others order the Electoral Commission to conduct fresh elections.
He claims that because the EC’s non-compliance with the law affected the final outcome of the ballot.
esterday, Bobi Wine’s lawyers expressed concern that they were yet to see President Yoweri Museveni to serve him with the copy of the petition which by law they must, by close of today Wednesday.
Counsel Anthony Wameli told media that they had moved to different places including the Nakasero State Lodge, the party offices on Kyadondo rd. and the Legal Office on Plot 13, but were unable to see the president.
In the 2016 election petition, Hon Amama Mbabazi the then petitioner was able to deliver a copy of the petition to the president through his lawyers who met Museveni at State House in Entebbe.
