
In a bid to improve the roads sector and infrastructure in Entebbe Municipality, the works sector has been allocated Shs 6billion in the 2015/16 budget with funding from the World Bank Uganda Support to municipal Council Development program (USMID). Shillings Four billion (4bn) will go to the construction of Gabunga Road, Serumanga Road, Lutwama Road and Mwaula Road while the other Shillings two billion (2bn) will go to the routine maintenance of 26 roads which include; Kitooro Road, Tamale Ssali Road, Berkery Road, Kampala, Kiwafu, Hill Road and Lane, Martyrs Road, circular road, Appolo square, Lunyo road, Lugard road, Fulu Road, Manyango road, Nambi Road, Nakiwogo road and close, Danstan Nsubunga road, Bugonga Road, station road, queens road, Gowers road, Uringi road, Uringi crescent, moroto road, Sewabuga Road, movement road and market street.
In financial year 2014/15 the works sector was allocated Shs 5 billion under the USMID Program and this was spent on routine and periodic maintenance road works and rehabilitation of major roads in the municipality. Some of the roads include; resealing Ssewabuga road 1st phase, tarmacking Kintu road, installing street lights on Sewabuga Road (ongoing), Lugonjo drainage (ongoing). The roads that were routinely maintained in the FY 2014/15 include; Mnayngo Road, Kampala Road, Dr. Anthony Lubega Road, Martyrs Road, Kiwafu Road, Dustan Nsubunga, Hill Lane, Tamale Ssali, Mugwanya Road, Berkley road, Circular road, Kitooro road and Nakiwogo road.
Also in FY 2014/15 the Government of Uganda under the USMID Program released Shs 3bn (Three billion shillings) for work on the municipal road infrastructure. Some of the roads include; Church road 1.572 km (ongoing), Basudde Rise 0.32km (ongoing), Nyondo Road 0.130km (ongoing), Fulu Road 0.171km (ongoing).

Councilor Juma Mukasa who presented the budget on behalf of Mayor Vincent Kayanja DePaul who was away with other engagements revealed that the long awaited project of constructing the new Kitoro market under the Markets and Trade Improvement program (MATIP) will start.
In the health sector emphasis has been put on completion and furnishing of Katabi Health Centre III as well as constructing of a placenta pit.
Municipal council will also continue to emphasize effective public service delivery in the areas of Garbage collection, maintenance of open spaces and parks, improving standards of municipal roads, provision of primary Health care such as immunization, supervision of primary Education to ensure attendance of both teachers and pupils in class, HIV/AIDS programs in partnership with other organizations like TASO, Tree and beatification.
Council is also establishing a mobile phone numbers database and will start using the SMS method to remind tax payers. Council will also implement the new Hotel Tax and the Non compliant hotels will be assessed on estimate as presented in the Local Hotel Act.

Construction of one classroom block at Kiwafu Moslem Primary School (ongoing)

The municipality emerged second in the under 14 national ball games competition.
Seven lower health units and Entebbe Hospital received Shs. 49, 863,000 primary health care grant funds. Through the PHC Grant council was able to carry out immunizations, health inspections and home visits which significantly reduced on the prevalence of preventable diseases.

Construction of an underground water tank with a capacity of 200,000 liters at Shs. 290,000,000 financed by Uganda Breweries Limited.
Shs. 15,750,000 was disbursed to Six community groups under the community driven development project while shillings 4,500,000 was disbursed to three PWD’s community groups.
Municipal Council has 15 FAL Classes and FAL instructors have received a totaling to Shs 2,367,000 for the three quarters.
Beatified the Buku VIP Road, Kitooro cemetery, state House road and areas opposite ministry of Agriculture with flowers.
Destroyed Anthills.
Commenting on the budget Deputy Mayor Kimanye Simon noted that the Shs 6 billion allocated to the works sector is aimed at improving the standard of the roads in the municipality.
“The biggest chunk of the budget has been allocated to the works sector because when we assumed leadership in 2011 many of the roads were in a sorry state” Kimanye said.
