After finally signing a partnership with the Fisheries Training Institute, Entebbe Football Club officially acquired Bugonga Stadium as it’s new home ground. Entebbe FC has been based at Nakivubo Stadium and according to Club Treasurer Abdul Samad Mugisha it has been costly for the team in terms of Transport and other welfare costs.
“We reached an agreement with the Fisheries Training Institute and we shall now start playing our home games in Entebbe this coming season in February. Entebbe FC Fans will now watch their team play in Entebbe” Abdul Samad confirmed.
“We are racing against time to ensure that we have the stadium complete before the new Uganda Premier League season gets underway in February” Samad added.
“We hope in the next five months to start Entebbe Youth FC academy that will enable us groom young talent” he revealed.
Samad also revealed that the club has managed to secure sponsors from Netherlands though he declined to name them.
“We have managed to secure sponsors from Netherlands and they will help us transform the club into a modern football club with a modern dressing room, pavilion and washing rooms” Samad stressed.
“Fisheries Training Institute has provided us with a room that we shall use as a dressing room. We shall also use their vehicle parking facility” he continued.
Entebbe FC which lies 15th on the Uganda premier league table recently acquired former National Uganda Cranes Goal Keeper Abu Kigenyi (1994-1996) as new coach after sacking Matia Lule.
Entebbe FC is under the stewardship of Kimuli Anthony as Club President while Chris Ssebuliba is the Club’s Chairman.
