Police on Wednesday picked two bodies of yet to be identified persons from a swamp below Nambigirwa Bridge along Entebbe Express Highway.
According to police, the bodies were first seen by workers cleaning the Expressway at around 3pm.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire in a statement said that Entebbe Police team led by the District Police Commander and Fire Prevention and Rescue Services started the work of retrieving the bodies from the swamp.
“So far, one body of male adult has been retrieved and efforts are under way to pull out the second body,” he said.
“Investigations are ongoing to ascertain what exactly happened. We shall update the public accordingly.”
Such incidents are rare on the Expressway due to the availability of CCTV cameras and police patrols.
However, two people were gunned down at Nambigirwa Bridge in 2019.
